Leeds United agree terms for Josh McDonald contract as official announcement made
Leeds United has officially announced the signing of Josh McDonald’s inaugural professional contract at Elland Road.
The 17-year-old winger has showcased his talent in 17 outings for Leeds in the Premier League North, where he has netted five goals and provided three assists.
McDonald recently debuted for the Under-21s, stepping in for Sonny Perkins against Leicester City in Premier League 2.
The club confirmed McDonald’s contract extension via their official website on Thursday (21 March), securing his services until 2026.
McDonald’s elevation to a professional deal bodes well for Leeds, as the young attacker has garnered attention with his performances. Having represented Scotland at Under-17s level and featured for Leeds in the U21s, McDonald is on the cusp of senior football.
With impressive stats in the Premier League North, Leeds hopes McDonald can maintain his form as he transitions into regular appearances in Premier League 2.
This follows another youth contract extension earlier in the week when Sam Chambers also signed his inaugural professional deal at Elland Road on Tuesday (19 March).
