The 19 April report, which ran on pages 79 and the back page, detailed Rangers’ “stinging response” after the two clubs’ match was postponed a second time. The Gers demanded that the SPFL take action because of Dundee’s “negligence and unprofessionalism.”
Although Dundee has denied the existence of the fine, it has been stated that their arguments are false.
Rangers enraged over disruption in Dundee
Rangers have not tried to disguise how upset they are about the disruption that problems with Dundee’s Dens Parkpitch have caused.
Their two postponements against the Gers were the fourth and fifth times this season that a game at Dens Park had to be rescheduled because the playing surface got so wet that it was no longer playable.
Rangers were notified, first three days prior to the game and then on the day of the match earlier this month, that the game would not proceed at short notice in both cases.
When the match finally took place, the result was a 0-0 draw, which puts the Gers three points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership standings due to a worse goal differential. This has hurt their chances of winning the championship.
