There are others who argue that Lopetegui’s brand of football is just the same as Moyes’.

At first, I was one of those folks. But after doing more thorough investigation, I completely support the Spaniard’s upcoming appointment.

And there is one specific aspect of Lopetegui’s preferred playing style that could perhaps help one Hammer who has been having a lot of trouble lately.

Julen Lopetegui could provide a lifeline for West Ham’s collapse.

When the Spaniard replaces Moyes, a number of West Ham players will be hoping for additional opportunities.

The primary mistake made by the Scot was overly relying on his favorites while neglecting the supporting cast.

But this season, there hasn’t been a real opportunity for one peripheral player.

Throughout the previous twelve months, he has performed so poorly for us each and every time.

But now that Lopetegui’s playing style differs from Moyes’s, he might well be handed a lifeline.

Since coming to the Hammers in the summer of 2022 on a £28 million move from Rennes, Nayef Aguerd has been a complete disaster (DailyMail).

It’s interesting to note that while Lotegui was in charge of Sevilla, he attempted to sign the 28-year-old before he joined us.

The Morocco international appears to be terribly out of his element playing Premier League football and has been a dreadful fit for the Hammers.

But could he really thrive in a team that prefers to control possession and plays with a high back line where the emphasis is on building up from the back?

Whether that’s wishful thinking or not, one thing is for sure: with Lopetegui at West Ham, he will have a better opportunity to make an impression than he did under Moyes.
