The Championship club is on the verge of losing its manager ahead of the summer.

Burnley are on the verge of replacing manager Vincent Kompany before next season’s Championship campaign. Burnley were relegated from the Premier League under former Manchester City star Vincent Kompany, barely a year after blasting to promotion from the Championship. However, according to sources from Tuesday evening, the renowned centre-back is close to joining Bayern Munich.

Kompany has been connected with Germany since last week, following Thomas Tuchel’s departure from Munich after a trophy-less season. The Belgian manager was also rumored to be under consideration by Premier League team Brighton & Hove Albion following Roberto De Zerbi’s resignation, but now appears to be moving to Germany.

The Black Cats finished 16th in the Championship last season and are looking for a new head coach following the dismissal of Michael Beale earlier this year.
