The Oklahoma Sooners extend an offer to the son of a Tennessee Vols legend.
The Oklahoma Sooners reportedly extended an offer this week to the son of a Tennessee Vols football legend. According to Rivals.com recruiting analyst Marshall Levenson, Cooper Witten, a 2027 athlete and the son of former Vols tight end Jason Witten, received the offer from Oklahoma.
Witten, who stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 205 lbs, hails from Argyle, TX, and has yet to receive a rating from recruiting services. Playing for his father at Liberty High School, Witten currently occupies positions at safety and wide receiver, though he believes his long-term position will be at safety.
The offer from the Sooners came after Witten attended a camp at Oklahoma. Witten himself explained the sequence of events, stating, “I went to the Oklahoma camp on Saturday and it was a great experience… Coach (Zac) Alley approached me after the camp and expressed their interest, offering me a scholarship.”
While it’s still early in Witten’s recruitment process, Tennessee might want to consider joining the competition early if they aim to secure the commitment of this Vol legacy.
