The Boston Celtics, known for their heavy reliance on the 3-pointer last season, unsurprisingly selected another proficient shooter in the 2024 NBA Draft. With the 30th overall pick, they drafted 23-year-old Baylor Scheierman from Creighton University.
Standing at 6-foot-7, Scheierman brings five years of college basketball experience, giving him a maturity advantage over many rookies. He’s already older than some current Celtics players, including forward Jordan Walsh, guard Jaden Springer, and point guard JD Davison.
Fresh off a championship, the Celtics benefit from adding a player with the maturity to handle the NBA’s learning curve. Additionally, Scheierman’s elite shooting ability can ease his transition into the league.
Before the 2024 All-American makes his NBA debut, let’s examine his college career and evaluate the Celtics’ first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
