While the NBA has been buzzing about Paul George joining the Philadelphia 76ers, it’s not the only significant move this offseason—the New York Knicks have also made a big addition.

On Carmelo Anthony’s “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, former Golden State Warriors champion Andre Iguodala discussed how impactful Mikal Bridges will be for the Knicks.

“I think Mikal is perfect alongside Jalen Brunson,” Iguodala said. “They complement each other very, very well. I previously said Mikal Bridges was the best talent in New York, but Jalen has proved me wrong with his incredible IQ and gameplay. It’s been amazing. People have been asking how far the Knicks can go with their current team—I think Mikal will bring the perfect balance to Jalen.”

Iguodala believes that Mikal Bridges was the best player on both the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets. His partnership with Jalen Brunson is expected to elevate the Knicks.

Currently, the major teams in the Eastern Conference are the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, and New York Knicks. Despite missing Julius Randle, the Knicks were just one game away from the Eastern Conference Finals last season. If they stay healthy and maintain the energy from last year’s impressive run, they have a genuine chance at upsetting the Boston Celtics.
