On Monday evening, former St. John’s and Oregon State wing Glenn Taylor Jr. announced that he is committed to Oklahoma.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 200 pounds, Glenn Taylor Jr. spent his first two college years at Oregon State, where he averaged 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game as a sophomore. In 2023, playing for the Red Storm, the Las Vegas native averaged 4.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, shooting 42.4% from three-point range on nearly two attempts per game. Taylor has started 59 games and appeared in 95 throughout his college career, bringing veteran experience to the Sooners’ locker room.
Taylor committed to the Sooners after initially pledging to Grand Canyon in May but decommitted in early June.
In high school, Glenn Taylor Jr. played at Compass Prep (AZ), the same school as OU’s latest prep commit, Jeremiah Fears.
With junior college transfer Jeff Nwankwo expected to miss the entire 2024-25 season, the additions of Fears and Taylor are crucial for Porter Moser’s team late in the recruiting process.
Fears’ slashing and playmaking abilities, combined with Taylor’s shooting prowess from beyond the arc, could provide an immediate boost as the Sooners enter their first season in the SEC.
