AUSTIN — Texas head football coach Steve Sarkisian and his wife, Loreal, have announced their decision to file for divorce.
Steve Sarkisian, 50, and Loreal, a wardrobe stylist, shared the news through Instagram posts on Friday night.
“After many heartfelt conversations, we have decided to amicably part ways and jointly file for divorce,” they said. “We aim to remain the best of friends and are incredibly grateful for the love and support we have shared throughout our journey together.”
They explained that their careers “made it difficult to prioritize time for each other, and this step will give us the necessary time and space professionally while still supporting each other personally.”
Sarkisian is entering his fourth season as head coach of the Longhorns. This year, the team is ranked in the top 10 and is a favorite to reach the SEC football championship game as one of the league’s top two teams.
They do not have children.
