On the track, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is known for her composed and focused demeanor. While she occasionally flashes a smile, the Olympian generally displays a serious and determined persona, especially when competing. This was evident when she returned as the defending champion in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay on the world stage. Naturally, fans have wondered if this is how the 25-year-old is off the track as well.
Surprisingly, McLaughlin-Levrone has a fun and playful side that many fans got to see during Thursday Night Football. At the game between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys on September 26, where the Cowboys won 20-15, McLaughlin-Levrone was seen on the sidelines. The highlight of the night was her interaction with Prime Video reporter Taylor Rooks.
Rooks asked if she could hold McLaughlin-Levrone’s gold medal, and the Olympian, after rummaging through her purse, handed it over, casually saying, “Of course. But I have another one.” Rooks later shared the moment on X, captioning it, “One of the biggest flexes ever ðŸ˜,” alongside photos of the two with the medal.
McLaughlin-Levrone’s track success is legendary. At the Stade de France, she defended her Olympic 400m hurdles title, not only winning gold but setting a world record time of 50.37 seconds. She became the first woman to accomplish this feat and broke her own world record for the sixth time. She also returned to the track for the women’s 4x400m relay, where her 47.71-second split helped Team USA set a new American record at 3:15:27 alongside teammates Gabby Thomas, Shamier Little, and Alexis Holmes.
Despite her usual serious demeanor, McLaughlin-Levrone has shown her lighter side on several occasions. During an episode of the “Ready Set Go” podcast, Justin Gatlin and Rodney Green spoke with Tiara Williams (aka Real Talk with Tee) about McLaughlin-Levrone’s playful interactions. Gatlin noted that Williams seems to bring out a side of McLaughlin-Levrone that no one else does, recalling how she even got the Olympian to dance during an interview at the U.S. Olympic Trials in July.
