The Cincinnati Bengals defense faced another significant setback following their loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

As reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, starting cornerback Dax Hill has suffered a torn ACL and will be out for the rest of the season. The 31st overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft had been having a solid season, primarily playing as a starter in his third year.

According to Pro Football Focus, Hill allowed 11 receptions on 19 targets (57.9%) for 95 yards, one touchdown, one pass breakup, and had an 88.7 passer rating in coverage.

The Bengals defense has struggled to find its rhythm this season under defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, allowing the 12th-most yards per play (5.6), the third-most rushing yards (757), ten passing touchdowns, and the second-most points scored (145).

With Hill sidelined for the remainder of the season, the Bengals will need to depend on their depth in the cornerback position, which includes DJ Turner and Josh Newton on the outside. This loss is a significant blow to an already struggling defense, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Cincinnati sought to bolster their secondary.
