MontrealAre the Canadiens considering sending their underperforming veterans to Laval? | HI/O Bonus

Last season, the Canadiens initially assigned veteran forward Joel Armia to the AHL’s Laval Rocket and later sent him down again before he completed the year with Montreal.

Could the Canadiens potentially send veteran forwards Josh Anderson, Christian Dvorak, or Brendan Gallagher to Laval if they face difficulties this season, in order to make room for a younger player?

In this bonus episode of the Hockey Inside/Out Show, The Gazette’s Stu Cowan is joined by former Canadiens Chris Nilan and Rick Green, who were teammates on Montreal’s 1986 Stanley Cup team.

Nilan discusses his 49 games with the AHL’s Nova Scotia Voyageurs in 1979-80 before being called up by the Canadiens, while Green shares his experience of transitioning directly from junior hockey to the NHL as the No. 1 overall pick by the Washington Capitals in the 1976 NHL Draft.

We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Be sure to check out a new HI/O Show each week, along with three bonus episodes.
