What sets him apart for me is the blend of beauty, dignity, power, and memorability he brings every time he plays. I’ve mentioned before that if you handed him a ukulele and a Pignose amp, he’d still make it sound like the solo in ‘Comfortably Numb.’ He has a unique ability to draw out incredible sound from a guitar.”

He’ll say, ‘Gilmour recorded the solo for ‘Learning to Fly’ in one take on a small practice amp,’ which always leads to my usual response about how not everyone can be David Gilmour!”
