Former Ohio State four-star wide receiver recruit Jeremiah McClellan changes commitment to Oregon.
In October, Oregon is set to host Ohio State in Eugene as it embarks on its journey in the Big Ten. Notably, Dan Lanning’s team will feature former Buckeye recruit Jeremiah McClellan, a four-star wide receiver who made the switch to the Ducks this Wednesday. McClellan, ranked 100th overall in the 2024 ESPN 300, had been committed to Ohio State since August 13, and his decision to join Oregon provides a significant boost to the Ducks’ third-ranked recruiting class.
Oregon’s recruiting efforts also saw the acquisition of another wide receiver, as four-star prospect Ryan Pellum, ranked 90th in the ESPN 300 and hailing from Millikan High School in Long Beach, initially committed to USC in June. However, Pellum reversed his decision on signing day, declaring his commitment to the Ducks. This marked another notable signing day flip for Lanning and Oregon, strengthening their offensive lineup.
Jeremiah McClellan, standing at 6 feet and weighing 195 pounds, demonstrated his skills at Christian Brothers College High School in Missouri, recording 58 receptions for 834 yards in the most recent season. He joins a growing list of talented receivers in Oregon, following the 2023 class additions of Jurrion Dickey(ranked 38th overall) and Ashton Cozart (ranked 95th overall).
While Ohio State has established a strong track record in recruiting ESPN 300 receivers, with 18 signings since the 2018 recruiting cycle, Oregon’s recent additions showcase their commitment to building a competitive team. Ohio State’s 2024 class, currently ranked fourth in ESPN’s team rankings, includes five-star Jeremiah Smith (ranked 7th overall) and Mylan Graham (ranked 40th overall).
