“It’s incredibly significant for both me and the band to reach our 40th anniversary, and we intend to celebrate it in a big way.”

Gary Holt recently appeared on Loudwire Nights (Oct. 28) to talk about Exodus’ upcoming tour and also touched on next year’s major milestone for their debut album, “Bonded by Blood”.

“When we were creating the album, we were simply making the music we wanted to hear,” Holt shared with host Chuck Armstrong.

“We never imagined anyone would discuss the album or that it would eventually be considered one of the greatest thrash albums of all time. We just wanted to let loose, have fun, play fast, and hang out with our friends while causing chaos. We were doing what we loved.”

While he didn’t reveal specific plans for the 2025 anniversary celebrations, he assured the Loudwire Nights audience that Exodus is planning some exciting events, including a tribute to the band’s original lead singer, the late Paul Baloff.

“The 40th anniversary of the album coincides with his birthday, so we’re planning a significant celebration.”

Exodus Prepares for Headlining Tour

As Holt contemplated the legacy of Exodus and their landmark debut album, he also looked forward to the band’s upcoming headlining tour, which starts in Tampa on Nov. 2. He expressed a mix of excitement and nervousness about hitting the road again, noting it has been a long time since Exodus last took the stage as headliners.

“We believe we made a smart move by participating in strong lineups and playing near-headlining sets while really giving it our all,” he said.

“But now it’s all on us; it’s our tour and it’s either make it or break it. I’m feeling nervous and hoping for success, but I’m also excited. It’s our show, our stage, and it’s going to be awesome. I’m just happy as long as people come out.”
