Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman getting fired by Razorbacks expected by one analyst

Following Arkansas’s 63-31 defeat to Ole Miss on November 2, Brad Crawford of 247Sports posed a question that resonated with Razorbacks fans in Fayetteville, Little Rock, and beyond.

“So, this is it for Sam Pittman, right?”

Arkansas, now 5-4, has exceeded many preseason expectations, especially after winning two of their last three SEC games, including an upset over Tennessee on October 5. This success had quieted much of the speculation about Pittman’s job security.

However, the recent blowout loss, coupled with a lack of accountability in the postgame press conference, has reignited calls for his dismissal. Frustrated fans took to social media afterward, expressing their displeasure and urging for a change in leadership.

Arkansas fans call for Razorback power brokers to pull the plug on Sam Pittman

Pittman has lost the support of the Razorback fanbase. Some fans feel his time with the team has already reached its peak with no sign of improvement.

One fan tweeted, “The Sam Pittman era peaked in year 2 and has gone downhill fast. His teams either lose close one-score games or get blown out by 30+ points—no middle ground. He should’ve been fired after last year’s 4-8 season.”

Another fan added, “Hunter Yurachek, I respect your decisions, including hiring Calipari, but I’m giving you until Monday at noon to fire Sam Pittman.”

A third fan bluntly stated, “Unless Arkansas somehow beats Texas, I don’t see how Sam Pittman can recover from this.”

With Texas, LA Tech, and Missouri still left on the schedule, it’s uncertain if Pittman will remain head coach through the end of the season.
