The San Francisco 49ers have officially ruled out wide receiver Danny Gray and have made the decision to call up two players from their practice squad.

The San Francisco 49ers are gearing up for a Week 17 matchup against the Washington Commanders on the road, aiming to recover from a recent loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas. Unfortunately, they will be facing this challenge without several key players, as the team ruled out defensive tackle Arik Armstead (foot, knee), safety Ji’Ayir Brown (knee), wide receiver Jauan Jennings (concussion), offensive tackle Jaylon Moore (concussion), and tight end Ross Dwelley (ankle) on Friday.

Adding to the list of unavailable players, wide receiver Danny Gray, who recently had his practice window opened after being on Injured Reserve, was ruled out on Saturday. To address the roster gaps, the 49ers are promoting two players from the practice squad for the upcoming game: safety Erik Harris and wide receiver Tay Martin.

Erik Harris, who was elevated last week following safety George Odum’s injury, may now serve as additional depth in the absence of starting safety Ji’Ayir Brown. Tay Martin is being brought in to provide depth in the wide receiver position, compensating for the absence of both Jauan Jennings and Danny Gray.

Despite the challenges posed by injuries, the 49ers received a positive note with left tackle Trent Williams not appearing on the injury report on Friday. Williams had previously sustained a groin injury during the game against the Ravens.
