The Pogues Secure Contract for Irish Pub Chain, Announce Global Opening Tour!
In a move that perfectly marries their music and love for a good pint, legendary Celtic punk band The Pogues have announced a groundbreaking deal to launch their own chain of Irish pubs worldwide. Dubbed The Pogues’ Tavern, the pubs promise an authentic Irish experience infused with the band’s unmistakable charm, music, and, of course, plenty of whiskey.
The announcement comes with even more exciting news: a global opening tour! The band revealed plans to perform at the grand opening of each pub in major cities around the world. Starting in Dublin this May, the tour will make stops in London, New York, Sydney, Tokyo, and beyond. Each event will feature an exclusive live performance by the band, a special toast led by Shane MacGowan himself, and a menu inspired by traditional Irish pub fare.
Speaking at the press event, MacGowan said, “We’ve always wanted to create a space where our fans can celebrate life, music, and the perfect pint. This is more than just a pub—it’s a home for Pogues fans everywhere.”
Each pub will be uniquely themed around The Pogues’ iconic songs and history, with live traditional Irish music, exclusive merchandise, and even custom drinks named after their greatest hits. Fans can look forward to cocktails like “Streams of Whiskey” and “Fairytale of New York Sour.”
While some have called the venture ambitious, The Pogues remain undeterred. “If there’s one thing we know, it’s how to throw a party,” said band member Spider Stacy.
Tickets for the opening events will be available soon, with priority given to loyal fans. If you’ve ever dreamed of raising a glass with The Pogues, this tour promises to be the ultimate celebration of music, culture, and camaraderie.
