STORY: The Philadelphia Eagles’ coach says he doesn’t want to play again in 2024

After the 2023 season, a coach for the Philadelphia Eagles has made the decision to leave the club. After losing six of their last seven games over a two-month period, the Eagles were expected to make some personnel changes.

Sean Desai, the defensive coordinator, was let go by the Eagles on Sunday night. This past weekend, rumors circulated that the Eagles intended to let go of Matt Patricia and/or Desai over the summer. In Week 15, Patricia replaced Desai as playcaller in an effort to galvanize the defense.

The season was not saved by the bold move, as the Eagles were defeated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round. Although Desai may have opted for termination, Patricia is willing to go from Philadelphia.

Matt Patricia is looking for work.

Since his contract with the Eagles is about to expire, Patricia is reportedly looking into additional “opportunities” for the next season, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Pelissero believes Patricia will be a top contender for a different team’s defensive coordinator position in the summer.

The Eagles are anticipated to pursue defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson of the Baltimore Ravens as a possible replacement for Desai and Patricia in the next campaign. In 2022, Wilson served as the Eagles defensive backs coach.
