Grady Diangana’s 88% performance in the 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town suggests that contract negotiations with West Brom are imminent.
West Brom defeated Ipswich Town 2-0 on Saturday, November 25, to continue their excellent season under Carlos Corberan.
At The Hawthorns, Darnell Furlong and Grady Diangana emerged as the players of the day, but the hosts’ three-point victory was really the result of a cohesive effort. With just two losses in the current Championship campaign, the Baggies have defeated Ipswich, and Corberan’s team is currently fifth in the standings with 29 points from 17 games played.
Even though The Hawthorns was a team effort, Diangana’s contributions cannot be understated; the attacker finished 35 of his 40 passes for an 88% passing accuracy that went toward his goal [Sofascore].
The DR Congo international’s 71 minutes on the field were far from flawless; in fact, he only emerged victorious from one of his four duels, and Diangana was also given a yellow card.
Though Corberan won’t be overly focused on that last point, the manager will undoubtedly be pleased with Diangana’s recent goal-scoring performances.
With three goals and three assists so far this season, the 25-year-old has been a major contributor to the team’s recent success.
Furthermore, since Diangana’s contract with The Hawthorns expires in June 2025, Corberan may need to start thinking about the attacker’s future there even though it may not be a top priority right now [Transfermarkt].
The player might reach new heights with some stability, and the Baggies could fare much worse in the long run than having an attacker of Diangana’s caliber in their ranks.
