ESPN once more suggests the idea of Dak Prescott demanding a trade from the Cowboys.
In Frisco, there’s a familiar saying at The Star: “Do you want your Cowboys news from Frisco or from Bristol?” And ESPN seems to prove this point once again.
For the second time in a week, ESPN’s Mike Greenberg is stirring up discussion by expressing apparent dissatisfaction “on behalf” of Dak Prescott, the quarterback for “America’s Team.”
During Wednesday’s broadcast of his radio show, Greenberg reiterated his argument (previously voiced on TV’s “Get Up”) that Dak should consider leaving Dallas. He emphatically stated, “If I’m Dak Prescott, I am genuinely thinking, ‘I need to get up out of here!’ I’d do it!”
Greenberg’s rationale seems muddled, referencing conflicts with “my best offensive teammate” (CeeDee Lamb) and “my best defensive teammate” (Micah Parsons).
In his determination, “Greeny” insists, “I’d walk in there and say, ‘Trade me! And here’s a list of places I’m going.'”
However, Greenberg appears out of touch with recent reports from Frisco regarding family dynamics, which we’ve closely followed, finding no evidence of familial social media disputes causing locker room strife. Perhaps ESPN should investigate and report facts rather than assume catastrophe.
Speaking on behalf of Dak, something Greenberg seems unqualified to do, as we presume he hasn’t discussed leaving Dallas with Prescott, is a topic that hasn’t surfaced in our circles.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has reiterated his commitment to Dak and the 2024 season, with a lucrative contract extension being the likely outcome.
When Dak, who had a standout season, addressed the playoff loss to the Packers, he shouldered blame and acknowledged the high standards of the team and the city: “I sucked tonight. I understand it’s about winning the Super Bowl, and that’s the standard of the league, and damn sure the standard of this place. I get it…”
Interestingly, CowboysSI.com was present at AT&T Stadium that evening, close to Dak discussing his team, without spotting Greenberg, his self-appointed spokesperson, anywhere nearby.
