R.J. Davis, a guard for North Carolina, is getting ready for what might be his last game at the Smith Center versus Duke. Ahead of the rivalry game against UNC, the National Player of the Year front-runner claims to be playing the greatest ball of his four-year career and is ready for a “special” Saturday night in Chapel Hill.
“It’s going to be an exciting game whenever you play Duke,” Davis told reporters on Thursday. “In college basketball, it’s the best rivalry. This will be particularly memorable for me as a senior at the Smith Center.”
In advance of the greatest game of his short career, rookie point guard Elliot Cadeau will hear from Davis about his favorite memories from his career, which he shared with him against the Blue Devils. Along with discussing his intentions for the rest of the season, the close-knit locker room chemistry of the Tar Heels, and his improved defense performance, Davis also appeared on the Field of 68 podcast on Friday.

“The Final Four and Coach K’s final game are unquestionably my best memories; they are the ones I will always treasure. People had doubts about us before the game and other things. It was simply a lot of fun. The vibe of the entire place was fantastic. The most viewed game in history was the Final Four. That’s among the things I can still recall. Every time you play Duke, a fantastic game will occur. In college basketball, it’s the greatest rivalry. This will be particularly memorable for me as a senior at the Smith Center.”
