Rangers have finalized the signing of 16-year-old forward Arian Allen from Premier League side Everton, according to an announcement from the club.

Confirming the news on their official website on February 19th, the club revealed that Allen is excited to transition from his time at Goodison Park to joining Ibrox.

The young player will integrate into Steven Smith’s Under-18s team for the remainder of the season, promising an exciting period ahead.

Although Allen has been part of Everton since he was almost 10 years old, he will now continue his growth at Ibrox, where there’s a history of young players getting opportunities at the senior level.

This transfer to Ibrox presents a fantastic opportunity for Allen to advance in his football career, with a clear pathway towards the first team.

Rangers transfer news as Arian Allen signs from Everton at Ibrox

Rangers have a track record of nurturing talents from their academy, such as Alan Hutton in 2002, John Fleck in 2008, and Ryan Hardie in 2014. Ross McCausland’s progression into the first team under Philippe Clement serves as a notable example.

Clement seems to adhere to the belief that if a player is good enough, age shouldn’t be a barrier to first-team inclusion. Allen, being a dynamic forward, might find himself playing in front of the Ibrox crowd in just a couple of years.

With versatility across the forward positions, Allen will become a valuable asset for Rangers once he adapts to Scottish football, possibly catching Clement’s eye sooner rather than later.

Rangers have been in need of fresh attacking talent, and if Allen progresses well within the Rangers setup, he could soon find himself sharing the pitch with the likes of McCausland, Rabbi Matondo, or even Cyriel Dessers.
