33-12-11. Reclaiming the top spot in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins halted their four-game losing streak dramatically against the Dallas Stars during the President’s Day matinee matchup, triumphing 4-3 after a tense shootout that lasted until the ninth round.

In a thrilling showdown against a formidable Stars squad riding high on an 8-1-1 streak in their last ten games, the Bruins showcased stellar performances, earning recognition for three standout players.

Jeremy Swayman proved instrumental in the Bruins’ victory, facing an onslaught of 46 shots during regulation and overtime. Setting a new personal best with 43 saves over 65 minutes, Swayman delivered an exceptional performance in the shootout, denying eight Stars shooters and securing the win with a crucial stop against former teammate Craig Smith.

Making his NHL debut after being called up from AHL Providence on a two-way contract, Justin Brazeau left an indelible mark. Paired with Jesper Boqvist and Anthony Richard, his former teammates from Providence, Brazeau seized the opportunity, showcasing an impressive debut.

With 11:22 of ice time, Brazeau recorded five shots on goal and a +2 rating. His inaugural NHL game was capped off with his first NHL goal, adding to the narrative that earned praise from Jim Montgomery prior to the game, solidifying his case for further opportunities as the Bruins embark on a road trip.

The Bruins’ fourth line, comprising Brazeau, Boqvist, and company, shone brightly throughout the game. Boqvist, contributing 14:13 of ice time, notched his second goal of the season and assisted on Brazeau’s milestone goal with a deft pass. Boqvist’s goal stemmed from a stellar setup by Anthony Richard, showcasing the line’s chemistry and effectiveness on the ice.

Additional commendations are due to Charlie McAvoy for a two-assist performance, including the shootout-winning goal, and Brad Marchand, who notched an assist while marking his 1,000th NHL game with a spirited on-ice altercation.

As the Bruins set off on a four-game road trip, facing the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks, and Seattle Kraken, anticipation builds for their return home to square off against the Vegas Golden Knights to conclude the month of February.
