The Twins have secured outfielder Manuel Margot in a three-player trade with the Dodgers, who have acquired Kiké Hernández in return.
The Minnesota Twins have acquired outfielder Manuel Margot, along with minor league shortstop Rayne Doncon and cash, from the Los Angeles Dodgers. In exchange, the Dodgers have received minor league shortstop Noah Miller. Additionally, as part of the transaction, the Dodgers have revealed a new $4 million, one-year contract to retain Kiké Hernández.
Margot, aged 29, recently joined the Dodgers just two months ago in a trade deal with the Tampa Bay Rays, alongside starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow. During his tenure with the Rays last season, Margot boasted a .264 batting average with a .686 OPS across 99 games, while demonstrating his versatility by playing both center and right field, with some appearances in left field as well.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli expressed enthusiasm about Margot’s addition to the team, highlighting his ability to complement the roster, particularly against left-handed pitching. Baldelli emphasized Margot’s versatility and overall skill set, noting that he aligns well with the team’s strategy of assembling players who contribute both on and off the field, making him a valuable addition to the clubhouse.
