The Texas Tech Alumni Association appoints a fresh president and CEO.

The Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board of Directors Search Committee has designated Curt Langford as the incoming CEO and president of the organization. A Texas Tech graduate holding a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and a Master of Arts in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on higher education and mass communications, Langford brings a wealth of experience to the position. Having previously served at the Alumni Association for 11 years from 1989 to 2000 in various capacities, Langford’s ties to Tech played a significant role in his selection as the top candidate.

John W. Redmon, national board chair of the Texas Tech Alumni Association, emphasized the thorough process undertaken in selecting Langford from among approximately 20 applicants. Given Langford’s status as a Tech graduate and his extensive history with both the university and the Alumni Association, Redmon expressed confidence in Langford’s ability to lead.

Langford’s professional relationship with Bill Dean stretches back many years, with Dean recalling Langford’s innovative approach to his work both in the classroom and at the Alumni Association. Langford’s tenure with the Balfour company for the past 18 years did not deter him from embracing the opportunity to return to Tech, citing a deep-rooted connection to the university and a desire to contribute to its continued success.

Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Langford outlined his vision for the association, emphasizing a commitment to advancing the interests of Texas Tech and its community. With Langford at the helm, the Texas Tech Alumni Association aims to propel Red Raiders to new heights of achievement and success.
