After missing his third consecutive practice on Friday, Ward will sit against the Broncos, according to coach Kevin Stefanski.

Ohio’s BEREA Due to a shoulder injury, Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward will miss the Cleveland Browns’ game against Denver on Sunday.

Coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Ward, a 26-year-old who is playing a fantastic season for the league’s best defense, will sit against the Broncos (5-5) after he missed his third consecutive practice on Friday.

Stefanski declined to predict the length of time Ward, who was hurt during the team’s victory over Pittsburgh last weekend, might be out. Stefanski was unsure of the precise play in which Ward sustained his injuries.

Cleveland’s secondary, which has been dealing with multiple injuries over the last two weeks, is under additional strain because of Ward’s absence.

The Browns have other options at the corners, but they will probably start Martin Emerson Jr. and Greg Newsome II there with Ward out of the lineup.

Juan Thornhill, the starting safety, is listed as questionable after missing two games due to a calf injury. He returned to practice this week.

Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin was also ruled out by Stefanski due to a concussion.

Anthony Walker Jr., the captain and starting linebacker, is doubtful due to a hamstring injury he suffered last week.
