On Saturday, Michigan’s game against Ohio State took a disastrous turn when offensive lineman Zak Zinter, a projected first-team All-America and 2022 second-team All-American, was carted off the field in the third quarter due to a horrific leg injury.

QB J.J. McCarthy hugged Zinter’s parents as Zinter, the leader of one of the best offensive lines in college football, was taken off to wild applause from the Michigan crowd while pumping his fist.

Update on Zak Zinter’s injuries

While Zinter was blocking, an Ohio State player blocked into him, causing a serious injury to his left leg. He went down and was attended to by the staff while the Michigan football team stood on the field. Spatters of “let’s go Zak” chants came down from the Michigan crowd. Zinter was almost immediately confirmed out for the game, but it’s unknown what the extent of the injury is.
