The regular season is now complete for Penn State and the other members of its college football family. Currently ranked No. 11, the Nittany Lions are expected to jump up into the top 10 of the penultimate College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday, following their 42-0 victory over Michigan State at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, which prevented No. 10 Louisville from moving up to the top spot. In the lead-up to conference championship weekend, that would help position head coach James Franklin’s team for the biggest bowl game possible. Among the many topics the show is concentrating on this week is its postseason destination.
We’re going to watch a lot of recruiting films in-house, get organized, and figure out how to travel and manage the schedule,” Franklin stated on Friday. “The schedules for every bowl game are finalized. Our calendars for where we would go and who we would play are already completely booked. The most obvious thing is that I’ll be zooming with a ton of potential candidates for offensive coordinator on Saturday and Sunday. After that, I believe we have three days set aside to meet with each position coach of the team’s players, and after that, I have some additional meetings with guys. Naturally, after that, we’ll begin practicing and then just kind of go from there.
However, our players’ meetings come first. watching the recruitment film, organizing ourselves, planning our next steps, and using the transfer portal to ensure that we complete this class properly. We must be fully aware of those things. And thanks to technology, I can now complete 90% of my work on Zoom while sitting in my office, which makes the most sense in my opinion.
Is Penn State going to play in the New Year’s Six?
Every week, Blue-White Illustrated has been monitoring the most recent bowl predictions. Since September, they have nearly always had Penn State in a New Year’s Six match. Naturally, the Lions lost twice in October and November before dropping a few games. However, it appears destined to appear in a NY6 game for the upcoming second season.
On Sunday and Monday, members of the national media will release their most recent forecasts throughout the day. It doesn’t seem likely that the Orange Bowl will be the destination. Once the top four are determined, it receives the first pick. However, the highest-ranked ACC team that isn’t in the playoffs has to face the highest-ranked Big Ten, SEC, or Notre Dame team that isn’t in the playoffs. Penn State doesn’t seem like it will be good enough to go to Miami. Unless Ohio State, of course, makes it into the playoffs. Even so, Missouri ought to be ahead of the Lions when they travel to Miami, Florida, for the match.
PENN STATE REPORT
The Peach, Cotton, and Fiesta bowls will be scheduled by the committee following the selection of the Playoff semifinalists and the Orange Bowl’s teams. There are no conference affiliation requirements because they are all at-large vs. at-large games. However, one of the six spots that are open must go to the Group of Five team with the highest ranking. Even if the team finishes outside of the top 12, that remains true. But the decision of which game that team (probably Tulane) plays this year rests with the committee. That’s the reason why the Lions’ future is currently a little less clear than usual.
For a while now, we have stuck with the Peach. Thus, we will keep doing that. On December 30, that game is in Atlanta, Georgia, at noon ET. However, could alignment originate from forecasters of Cotton or the Fiesta for the upcoming 48 hours? We’ll see because those are released after the 7 a.m. ET publication time of this story on November 26. But our wager is that the majority of experts believe that during the next 48 hours, Penn State and Tulane will square off in the Peach Bowl.
