Joe Burrow had wrist surgery on Monday afternoon with the intention of returning to the Bengals this week.

CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Bengals, is having surgery on his right wrist this afternoon.

The 26-year-old’s ligament was torn during Cincinnati’s defeat by Baltimore in Week 11.

Burrow will miss the rest of the 2023 season, but he is expected to recover fully and is scheduled to return to the team this week.

The Cincinnati Bengals have been plagued by injuries this season, which has left them with a 5-6 record and outside the postseason picture. Logan Wilson was injured near the end of the Week 12 game, Joe Burrow is out for the season, Tee Higgins has missed several games due to a hamstring injury, and Cam Taylor-Britt sustained a concussion in Week 11.

As the Bengals get ready for Monday Night Football against the Jaguars in Week 13, Zac Taylor gave updates on all four players. He began by mentioning that Burrow was undergoing surgery and that Taylor anticipated a full recovery from the quarterback.
