NFL playoff odds: Detroit Lions remain in a great position despite a difficult week.
The Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving loss to the Green Bay Packers made it feel a little like the sky was falling. Not only did Detroit fall short against their biggest rival on national television, but the team has now played poorly for two weeks in a row. The Lions seem to be going in the wrong direction, but this is the point in previous years when they have found their footing.
That may very well be the case, but it also lacks some perspective. The Lions are tied for the third-best record in football because of their impressive start to the season. With six games remaining in the regular season, they are in a great position.
The updated NFL playoff odds for 2023 really highlight how comfortable the Lions are in their current situation. Were they to spiral still? Of course. Any group can. But, a great start has given them a huge margin for error.
