The New York Giants Surprised a Retired Veteran with a Service Dog Gift
Even though large gifts like these are exceptional, moments like these compel you to consider that it doesn’t always take a grand gesture to have a significant impact on someone’s life.
The New York Giants gave a man something that would change his life during this week’s game.
Veteran of the United States Navy John Mulvey attended the game and was honored for his service to our country by the NFL team by having him down to the field. Mulvey has served in the military for 36 years and has been deployed nine times. He participated in Gulf Wars, Desert Storm, Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the post-9/11 recovery efforts. He attained the rank of Master Chief E-8 before retiring in 2016.
Mulvey is receiving hearty applause from the stadium for his service. The announcers then deviate from their planned script for Mulvey, surprising him with the most amazing gift as a cute golden retriever is led onto the field:
When Mulvey and his family see the charming English cream golden who is wearing a New York Giants harness, it appears to be love at first sight. The dog leans in to embrace its new owner. Mulvey bends over and gives the dog a loving pet while expressing gratitude.
With the price tag of a well-trained service dog ranging from $10,000 to $50,000, Mulvey and his family will find this gift to be extremely meaningful and transformative.
