Do the Boston Celtics think about making a trade to acquire Andre Drummond?

Even with arguably the best roster in the NBA, the Boston Celtics are constantly looking for ways to improve their frontcourt. The legendary basketball team knew that the trades of star big man Kristaps Porzingis and veteran point guard Jrue Holiday could cause issues down the road because they involved the departure of several frontcourt players (or, in Grant Williams’ case, signed-and-traded).

Now that Porzingis has already missed time due to his first injury of the season, which is thankfully minor, it is obvious that Boston needs to find some more frontcourt depth that can play well enough to be on the court come playoff time.

Should the Celtics ask if veteran center Andre Drummond is still available, given that the Chicago Bulls are obviously on a downward spiral that will almost certainly culminate in the lottery?

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report says that both sides should give it some thought. The B/R analyst speculates that “it’s possible the Bulls have finally accepted what so many have thought for years: a rebuild is inevitable” in light of the trade winds circling Zach LaVine.

According to Buckley, he might be the kind of player Boston signs on to keep behind emergency glass.

According to the author, this team may get more use out of Drummond than Kornet in a playoff matchup with a low-post bruiser (many could end up on this club’s path to a title).

Drummond’s trade cost would be negligible, and that insurance alone would make it worthwhile.
