Even though Bailey only makes $1.09 million, the Dolphins ought to have taken a closer look at a slightly less expensive model. Perhaps the better option was Michael Turk, the son of former NFL and Dolphins punter Matt Turk.
Only 11 of Bailey’s 30 punts this year—or 36% of the total—have landed inside the 20. Only two have been touchbacks, which makes that number appear worse and indicates that his punts are not reaching their proper position.
