New Jersey autograph signing is hosted by Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito.
The craze began with DeVito’s six touchdown passes to just one interception in his first three starts. The Giants are off this week after defeating the New England Patriots and Washington Commanders.
On the field, it features players like standout running back Saquon Barkley calling his teammate “Jersey!” while referring to him as “Tommy Cutlets” from the sidelines, and the Giants doing the pinch-finger salute.
Naturally, the best place for DeVito to sign autographs was a sandwich shop in New Jersey.
For hours, hundreds of fans would come in and ask to have the hometown hero sign anything from homemade No. 15 DeVito jerseys to shoes, hats, helmets, and classic white jersey tank tops. The requests ranged from autographs of Jersey Juice to Tommy Cutlets to TD.
Naturally, a lot of people demanded to be photographed making the traditional Italian hand gesture with pinched fingers in the air, which appears to have become DeVito’s hallmark celebration.
Due to high demand, DeVito extended his appearance beyond its two hours to ensure that every guest could get an autograph.
One fan yelled, “put it up for the f—ing cutlet king” as the last group waited for their sandwiches, and then there was a final DeVito chant. That was a scene meant only for Jeremy Lin or the elite of New York sports.
At the end of the day, it’s all enjoyable,” DeVito said to ESPN. I’m trying to give back a little bit while also enjoying the bye week and the fans. While they’re moving, follow the positive energy.
DeVito’s six touchdown passes to just one interception in his three starts have started the craze. The Giants, who have already defeated the Washington Commanders and the New England Patriots, are on their bye week.
On the field, it features the Giants performing the pinch-fingered salute, and athletes such as standout running back Saquon Barkley calling his teammate “Jersey!” while referring to him as “Tommy Cutlets” from the sidelines.
Naturally, a sandwich shop in New Jersey was the most suitable location for DeVito’s autograph appearance.
