After Kenny Pickett’s surgery, the Steelers sign former Penn State star quarterback Trace McSorley.
Trace McSorley was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers to their practice squad on Monday, increasing the depth of their quarterback room, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Following an injury he sustained during his team’s Week 13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, starting quarterback Kenny Pickett had to have ankle surgery. Mitch Trubisky, the backup quarterback, replaced Pickett on Sunday.
Former Penn State standout McSorley has played for the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens in three NFL seasons, appearing in nine games overall. 93 pass attempts for 502 yards and five interceptions and he has thrown just one touchdown.
Last season, McSorley played in just one game for the Cardinals and threw his first five interceptions ever.
Although he was waived prior to the season, he trained camp with the New England Patriots. This season, he also trained with the Bears practice squad.
