Russell Wilson is absent for the Seattle Seahawks against the San Francisco 49ers. – Tracker

Seattle needs to snap its 49ers’ losing streak. Not too far in the past, the 49ers were owned by the Seahawks. Russell Wilson, however, took that edge away.

Before Wilson was traded to the Broncos in 2021, Seattle defeated San Francisco 10 times in a row from 2013 to 2017 and won 14 of the 17 games in the series. The roles have drastically reversed since then.

Prior to their matchup in northern California on Sunday, the Seahawks have suffered four straight losses to the Niners, including a 31-13 crushing on Thanksgiving night. The San Francisco team has won all three games by wide margins (20, 8, 18, and 18).

The Niners have defeated the 9-3 Cowboys 42-10 and the 10-2 Eagles 42-19, reaffirming their status as the best team in the NFC. The Seahawks need to defeat a team that they haven’t been able to defeat on Sunday in order to make it back to the postseason, even if they are only a Wild Card.
