Adrian Griffin, the coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, Provides a Dangerous Injury Update on Pat Connaughton
For their pivotal quarterfinal game against the New York Knicks on Tuesday, the Milwaukee Bucks have already made public their injury report. If the Bucks want to maintain their chances of winning the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament, they will need to win this game.
Sadly, Milwaukee will have to attempt to defeat the Knicks without the assistance of seasoned swingman Pat Connaughton.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Updates Injury Status for Pat Connaughton
In Milwaukee’s 131-124 victory over the Miami Heat on November 28, Connaughton suffered his first injury. Due to an ankle sprain, the 30-year-old had to leave the game and was unable to come back. Since then, he has missed two straight games; the match on Tuesday will be his third.
In remarks to media on Monday, Bucks head coach Adrian Griffin gave a concerning update regarding Connaughton’s future:
Connaughton’s unofficial ruling out for the next week by Griffin indicates that the veteran player most likely won’t be available for the entire In-Season Tournament.
The Bucks will play the Boston Celtics or the Indiana Pacers on Thursday if they defeat the Knicks on Tuesday. Milwaukee will play in the Finals on Saturday if they secure another victory. It doesn’t seem like Connaughton will be able to support his team for the duration of the tournament’s knockout phase at this point.
