Michigan is the top seed going into the College Football Playoffs for the first time ever. The Alabama Crimson Tide, who have won the CFP three times, is the team that was awarded the best seed in the playoffs.
Even though Alabama qualified for the playoffs after defeating Georgia, the top-ranked team, in the SEC championship game, the decision was not without controversy. The ACC champion and unbeaten Florida State was disqualified from the playoffs by the CFP committee.
A video that appeared online captured the reaction of the Michigan football team as they watched the selection show from an Indianapolis hotel. In the video, when Alabama’s name was called instead of Florida State’s, it seemed to startle some people at first.
On social media, rival supporters expressed their concern about Michigan’s matchup with the Tide, but Jim Harbaugh says his team is looking forward to the challenge. According to Harbaugh, the Wolverines vs. Alabama game is legendary because it takes place in the Rose Bowl.
In a Sunday conference call, Harbaugh stated, “No, we’re excited to face them.” It’s recognizable. It is the state of Alabama. Roll Tide, that is. Playing in the Rose Bowl and getting to witness the tradition while taking on a fantastic team like Alabama doesn’t get any better. It always has a purpose, really.”

When you consider Alabama, you find a totally different team than the Tide did at the beginning of the season. Jalen Milroe, the quarterback for Alabama, is where it all begins. After putting up mediocre performances early in the season, Milroe was benched until he earned his spot back.
Early on, Alabama relied more on Milroe as a runner, and his throwing ability didn’t impress critics. But as the season has gone on, Milroe has proven that he is more than just a capable running quarterback; his arm can also beat you.
Coach Harbaugh remarked on how well Milroe is performing and how much he has developed this season. According to Harbaugh, J.J. McCarthy and Milroe are comparable quarterbacks in that they are both very good.
“Yeah, he’s playing at an elite level, and you can see the improvement throughout the season,” Harbaugh stated. It appears that he reached a turning point just prior to the halfway point. also possesses a unique set of athletic abilities.”
