Before their Week 14 game against the Cowboys, the Eagles announce five roster changes.

On Wednesday, the Eagles declared five roster changes, including the official addition of Shaq Leonard to the team and the release of Christian Elliss from the active roster.

Along with wide receiver Cam Ward’s release, the team also added Greg Ward to the practice squad.

Leonard joins a linebacker corps beleaguered by injuries: Zach Cunningham missed Sunday’s game against the 49ers due to a hamstring injury, and Nakobe Dean is on Injured Reserve with a foot injury.

Linebacker Shaquille Leonard and the Eagles reached a deal on Monday, and Leonard is now formally a member of the team.

The linebacker played his first six seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before being waived earlier this season. Leonard had 65 tackles in nine games this season with the Colts.

The 28-year-old has 614 tackles, 17 forced fumbles, 15 sacks, and 12 interceptions in 68 career games.

After adding Shaquille Leonard to the roster, Philadelphia waived Elliss, the standout player on special teams, ending Elliss’ experiment at linebacker.

Elliss has 16 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one quarterback pressure in 12 games this season. In Week 13, the 24-year-old took the field for the first time in his career against the San Francisco 49ers.

After being waived by the Minnesota Vikings, Elliss joined the team in 2021. In 19 games with the Eagles, Elliss recorded 26 tackles.

Ward, who was freed on November 30, has returned.

The former college quarterback caught 88 passes for 768 yards and 10 touchdowns in 40 career games (13 starts). Ward set team records for receptions (53) and receiving touchdowns (6) in 2020.

Sims signed a contract on November 30.

Sims played with the Washington Commanders in 55 games (17 starts). Over the course of his six-year career, he caught 57 passes for 804 yards and three touchdowns.

The veteran safety Evans’s 21-day practice window has ended, signaling the end of his season. For the duration of the season, he will be kept on injured reserve.

Evans hasn’t participated in a game since the Los Angeles Rams victory in Week 5.

Evans had 14 tackles, two pass defenses, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in his four games this season.
