The Sharks and Anthony Duclair, and the Oilers and Philip Broberg are Set for Trade
It appears that Philip Broberg’s time in Edmonton is drawing to an end.
Kevin Weekes: We’ve been informed that defenseman Philip Broberg is a target for the Edmonton Oilers.
With the Oilers salary cap situation, the trade would probably need to be a dollar-in, dollar-out transaction.
Ryan Rishaug: Oilers general manager Ken Holland stated that Darren Ferris, the agent of Broberg, has not been granted authorization to pursue a trade.
Holland: “Derrin is not authorized to shop at Broberg.”
There are other teams snooping on the Columbus Blue Jackets besides the Edmonton Oilers
Ferris: “My client’s and my frustration with the Oilers is reflected in this matter. Ken and I are working together to address and resolve the matter in private.
The two sides have been in talks this week, and yesterday was the turning point.
Frank Seravalli: It sounds like interest, and defenseman Philip Broberg may be granted permission by the Oilers to pursue a trade.
Instead of a draft pick in exchange, the Oilers are hoping to get a player. They’ll probably have to look for a team that has a player in a comparable circumstance to Broberg.
If the San Jose Sharks wanted to, they could easily move Anthony Duclair.
Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast – The Leafs requested an episode featuring Tanev and Zadorov discussing San Jose Sharks forward Anthony Duclair.
Marek: “We’ve returned to him on San Jose, but there’s one guy I do wonder about as well.” This concludes our discussion of San Jose; we will now proceed. Mike Grier should have no issue moving Anthony Duclair, in my opinion.
Friedman: “That’s right. Additionally, I believed that declare would go farther there earlier in the year. I did, truly. In fact, I had heard some rumors that they were going to discuss that, but once more, this was a really gifted player.
The San Jose Sharks wouldn’t have an easy time moving Marc-Edouard Vlasic.
I’ve been told, Jeff, that he always scores well, and he did so against the Rangers on Sunday. You and I both agree. They’ll undoubtedly move him, in my opinion, as he has shown himself to be a very valuable performer.
