ESPN gets back at Jaylen Brown for the “corny” stat graphic.

For the record, following the change doesn’t necessarily require a “lengthy rebuild,” despite what has been suggested. Although we respect Harris lieutenant Magic Johnson’s call for patience, the NFL is currently a parity environment where positive change is not “easily,” but rather “quickly” achievable.

It is time for an improvement.

Brown has a valid complaint. As noted above by Taylor Snow of Celtics.com, the two-time All-Star had five assist opportunities against the Pacers that his teammates were unable to capitalize on. In addition, he averaged 4.2 assists in his previous 10 games, which included a six-assist outing on Nov. 28 against the Chicago Bulls.

Brown, who finished with 30 points (14-23 FG), nine rebounds, two blocks, and a steal, was a bright spot in the defeat to Indiana. On December 1, Boston defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 125-119, and he scored 20 points on 8 of his 20 shots.

To put it succinctly, Brown’s excessive shooting and lack of assists were not the main factors that led to the Celtics’ elimination from the In-Season Tournament. Their continued difficulties in the third quarter and their 17 turnovers proved to be the downfall for them.

When the Boston Celtics visit TD Garden on Friday night, they will be hoping to recover.
