Saints Complete Four Deals on Saturday
For Sunday’s game against the Panthers, New Orleans has two elevations and signs a fullback to the active roster while placing a rookie offensive lineman on injured reserve.
On Saturday, the Saints completed a number of transactions in advance of their Week 14 encounter with the Panthers. The 53-man roster now includes fullback Adam Prentice, while rookie offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri is placed on injured reserve. For the game, Jack Heflin and Marquez Callaway are typical practice elevations.
Saldiveri was doubtful heading into Sunday because of a shoulder ailment. Heflin made sense as Malcolm Roach’s replacement after the latter was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury. Heflin will play for the team for the first time in the regular season.
Game status designation for Derek Carr has been removed as a result of the personnel changes. Initially classified as dubious, he has demonstrated improvement throughout the week and successfully completed the concussion protocol on Friday. In addition, he was nursing injuries to his ribs and shoulder. In a game that New Orleans must win in the NFC South, he will start.
