Diontae Johnson, WR for the Steelers, has a knee injury

Diontae Johnson, the starting wideout for the Pittsburgh Steelers, did not show up for practice.

Pittsburgh — When kickoff of a pivotal game against the Indianapolis Colts approaches, the Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with more serious injury news.

Diontae Johnson, the starting wide receiver, was the most recent injury to be added to the Steelers’ extensive injury report this week. For the first time this week, Johnson was listed as a knee injury non-participant in practice.

Johnson participated in and completed the New England Patriots game last week. Neither was he mentioned in the Steelers’ initial injury report of the week.

Johnson has sustained injuries earlier in the season. After going down with a hamstring injury in Week 1 versus the 49ers, he was sidelined for four weeks until making a comeback in Week 7. He has caught 34 passes for 427 yards and three touchdowns since returning to the field.

The Steelers improved in other areas of the injury report.

Reversing course The day before, Najee Harris (knee) practiced all out without missing a beat. Security The status of Damotae Kazee (ankle) was changed from limited to full participation. T.J. Watt, an outside linebacker, was also elevated from limited participation to full participation due to a concussion.

Elandon Roberts, a linebacker, was limited in his practice today due to a groin injury that kept him out yesterday.

For the second day in a row, offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo (shoulder) did not practice, and outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (concussion) was again limited in his participation. Keeanu Benton, a defensive tackle (oblique), was also sidelined for a couple of practices.

For the second day in a row, cornerback James Pierre (shoulder) played in full, while quarterback Kenny Pickett (ankle) was again injured and will not play this weekend.
