Oklahoma is on the verge of finalizing its 2024 recruiting class as the early signing period approaches on December 20th. Several athletes are opting for early signing day ceremonies due to winter break, which will see some schools closed during that time.

While the recruiting process has concluded for many prospects, there are a few for whom it took an extended period to decide their college football destination. One such prospect is Eddy Pierre-Louis, a four-star offensive lineman from Tampa Catholic. Despite the prolonged decision-making process, Pierre-Louis’s athleticism and potential make the wait worthwhile. He officially committed to the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday.

Pierre-Louis had a range of offers from schools like Oregon, Alabama, UCF, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, and USC, among others, but he ultimately chose the Sooners. Ranked as a composite four-star at 247Sports and Rivals’ top guard prospect in the country, Pierre-Louis has been a coveted recruit.

The recruitment journey featured fluctuations, with UCF holding an advantage at times and Oregon leading for a period. However, Oklahoma consistently remained in contention, never falling too far down the pecking order. When the opportunity arose for the Sooners to take control definitively, they seized it.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing over 315 pounds, Pierre-Louis possesses game-ready size. While he is projected as a guard in college, his athleticism suggests he could potentially become an all-conference caliber player. His experience in track and field, coupled with a physical playing style showcased in high school tape, highlights his effectiveness as a pulling lineman, excelling in open space.

Oklahoma’s offensive schemes, particularly the gap-oriented run schemes incorporated by coach Seth Littrell, provide an ideal platform for Pierre-Louis to showcase his skills. The lack of depth along the interior for Oklahoma makes it plausible that Pierre-Louis may see playing time in the upcoming season.

With Pierre-Louis’s commitment, the Oklahoma Sooners boast 28 high school commitments, maintaining their status as one of the top ten recruiting classes in the country.
