Seattle Seahawks’ DK Metcalf receives another fine following an altercation with San Francisco 49ers’ Fred Warner.
DK Metcalf’s ongoing struggle to control his emotions is proving to be a financial detriment. The NFL recently imposed a fine of $19,123 on the Seattle Seahawks’ wide receiver due to his ejection in the fourth quarter of the team’s Week 14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Metcalf became involved in a skirmish with 49ers’ linebacker Fred Warner after Warner intercepted a pass from Drew Lock. Despite Metcalf’s claim that he believed Warner still possessed the football, he forcefully slammed Warner to the ground. This led to a confrontation, with Metcalf grabbing Warner’s facemask.
In defense of Warner, San Francisco cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, a former Oregon Ducks’ star, intervened and pushed Metcalf.
As a result, both Metcalf and Lenoir were ejected from the game. The NFL subsequently issued fines, with Metcalf facing a $19,123 penalty for his actions.
This marks Metcalf’s second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of the season, causing his fine to escalate from $13,659 for the initial offense. In total, Metcalf has accumulated six fines, amounting to over $85,000 this season.
