Michigan Football is currently anticipated to secure the commitment of a four-star prospect for the class of 2024.

The Wolverines are actively seeking to add a new prospect to their 2024 recruiting class ahead of the upcoming early signing day. While they aim to secure commitments from existing class members, their focus is also on finalizing deals with players who have not yet committed.

There are strong indications that Michigan is on the verge of adding Lugard Edokpayi, a Bishop McNamara prospect from District Heights, Maryland, to their ’24 cycle. Following a visit to Ann Arbor, the Wolverines are the leading contenders to secure his commitment.

Notably, various predictions, including a Crystal Ball prediction by Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider on 247Sports, as well as predictions from Zach Libby and EJ Holland of The Wolverine (On3), suggest that Michigan is likely to secure Edokpayi.

Lugard Edokpayi is ranked as a four-star recruit and is the 305th-ranked prospect in the 2024 cycle according to Composite rankings. Standing at an impressive 6-foot-6 and weighing 230 pounds, Edokpayi possesses remarkable size. While he is still refining his pass rush techniques, his exceptionally long wingspan sets him apart, and with college coaching, he is expected to be a disruptive force for offensive linemen.

Despite competition from Florida State and Maryland for the Edge rusher, it increasingly looks like Michigan will be his choice when early signing day arrives.

As of now, Michigan boasts 26 commitments in the 2024 class, including three committed Edge rushers.
