Joe Flacco of the Browns wants to continue playing in the NFL after 2024 and has no plans to retire.

Flacco signed a one-year contract with the Browns last month, which will keep him under their supervision for the rest of the season, following his initial signing with the Cleveland practice squad last month. After that, though, the 38-year-old will be free to sign with any team that needs his services this offseason.

Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson appear to be the top quarterbacks in the NFL, so it is doubtful that Flacco would stay in Cleveland in 2024. Nevertheless, he has established himself as a top backup, so a few teams looking to add a quarterback this offseason should target him.

Naturally, Flacco and the Browns are currently concentrating on holding onto their postseason spot as much as possible. As of Week 15, Cleveland stands at 8-5 and holds the fifth seed in the AFC. They will play the Bears at home on Sunday, travel to Houston to play the Texans on the road in Week 16, play the Jets at home in Week 17, and conclude the season traveling to Cincinnati to play the Bengals.

In 2024, Flacco—who was the Ravens’ 2012 MVP in the Super Bowl—would be in his 17th season of professional football.
