Jets versus commanders Players to Keep an Eye on: Washington Commanders
McLaurin, Terry: Following his lack of receptions in Week 13 against the Dolphins, McLaurin lit up the Rams defense last week with six receptions (12 targets) for 141 yards and a touchdown.

Before facing Los Angeles last week, the 28-year-old wide receiver failed to score a touchdown in five straight games. The Commanders are hoping that McLaurin’s performance will spur him on, as he faces Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner on Sunday in a challenging match.

Breece Hall, a second-year running back for the New York Jets, was unable to produce any results against the Dolphins last week. It was Hall’s second game of the season with fewer than fifteen rushing yards; on six carries, he gained only 12 yards. Against the Commanders’ run defense, which has given up 139.7 rushing yards per game over the previous three games, Hall will try to get his footing.

Jets versus commanders Forecast and Selection
Last week, Washington put forth a heroic effort to overcome a 21-point deficit in the fourth quarter thanks to Jacoby Brissett. After Sam Howell completed 11 of 26 passes for 102 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, Brissett took over.

Washington is sticking with Howell as their starting quarterback despite Brissett’s strong relief performance. Nevertheless, Howell needs to improve because he has thrown an interception in the last four games.

The team as a whole needs to get better because they have lost five straight games in addition to Howell. Washington is only scoring 19.6 points per game while being outscored by 17.6 points per game.

On the plus side, though, for Commanders, the Jets are having trouble scoring points (14.4). However, Howell may have a difficult time dealing with New York’s defense because their front seven and secondary can force mistakes.

Zach Wilson is in the concussion protocol, so we are not sure who will start at quarterback for the Jets offense. I do not see Wilson or Trevor Siemian breaking out against this defense if they get the start. Because neither team’s quarterback is playing particularly well, I will take the UNDER on the total.
