A talented athlete from within the state joins the Oklahoma Sooners

Andy Bass, one of Oklahoma’s most productive players, is now a formal member of the Sooners after completing his national letter of intent during the early signing period. Bass is going to be a preferred walk-on for the Sooners.

The No. 5 player in the state and a three-star athlete, Bass is a dynamic player, according to Rivals. Bass had a touchdown and 3,144 yards passing while playing quarterback for Heritage Hall. He also ran for 1,478 yards and 30 touchdowns and had one reception for 71 yards. In his final season, he scored 65 touchdowns in total.

Andy Bass will see a range of uses from the Sooners. In addition to spending time with the running backs, the former Heritage Hall quarterback will study the wide receiver position as he adjusts to college football.

Bass joins Xavier Robinson, Taylor Tatum, and other outstanding running backs at Oklahoma. Although there will be fierce competition for carries in this deep position group, Bass will have an opportunity to establish himself in the field going forward.

His injury sustained during the Oklahoma state playoffs will probably force him to redshirt his freshman year. Bass will give the Sooners’ offense another potent weapon in both the run and pass games whenever he does take the field.
